Joseph Walker, an Air Force combat veteran of Vietnam living in Texas, died without family. The local funeral home posted this on social media. The result was a funeral with full military honors and 6 thousand people from all over Texas attending. He answered his country’s call without reservations. His country answered back with the honor and recognition he earned. When reading this story, I stepped back from our petty politics to remember what counts for a whole lot more.
