Interesting stuff coming from TJ Gassnola regarding Silvio and Billy per Dan Wetzel's tweets.
Gassnola says he never paid the $20,000 to Silvio's guardian to pay back the money he received from Under Armour. Says he did give Silvio's guardian $2,500. This is potentially great news for Silvio. If that is all that the guardian received, I believe that is small enough that Silvio could keep his eligibility with possibly a brief suspension.
Gassnola says no one on KU staff knew about payments though he did converse with them periodically about recruits.
In regards to Billy, it seems like Billy's mother is to blame for his problems as she lied to KU. Gassnola definitely made payments to her (there are wire transfers to prove it). When confronted about it by KU, she lied and said she was having a romantic relationship with Gassnola which is interesting because I believe Billy's mom is a lesbian. She lied in an attempt to get the payments she received from Gassnola seem legal under NCAA rules. Billy's mom bought him the Dodge Charger which was registered under his deceased grandmother's name.
