If you haven't seen, McConnell is strangely seeming to blame the Ds for the GOP's voter fraud in NC. In his statement, he mocked the Ds for their arguments against voter suppression (or voter integrity, if you like) by pointing to what happened in NC. In essence, his argument is partly: we need to implement voter protection to prevent GOP voter fraud.
It's a strange argument for a politician to make - if you don't have safeguards in place, my party is going to cheat - but probably the most honest thing McConnell has said in years.
