I get a call a few minutes ago from someone I know who is at a P4 program. I would say this school has more money to spend on NIL than KU does.
He says, "how in the hell did KU pull Lathan?"
I said I really don't know what he's talking about other than I know they did a really good job with him and recruiting. I know they put a lot of time into him.
This person says, "he told us he wasnt interested and also threw out a high price tag."
I asked the person if he liked the film and he said, "we thought he was one of the best linebackers in the portal."
I know this could not have come down to money alone. If so this particular school could have outbid KU in a heartbeat.
I think the Jayhawks just landed one of their starting linebackers for 2025.
