Not long after No. 9/10 Kansas defeated No. 20 West Virginia, 76-69 in overtime, Bill Self said he expects Perry Ellis, who went down with a knee injury in the first half, to return this season.
"We played tough, we played hard, but playing without Perry (Ellis) obviously is not good," said Bill Self late on Tuesday night. "He had the flu and got off to a bad start anyway, then he gets hurt. We don't know the extent of it, but the good news is we think he can be back in about a week or so.
"I think (at) Oklahoma (Saturday, March 7) may be a long shot, which is fine, butthe kids battled and the crowd was great," he added. "Certainly, it has to rank up there with one of the best wins we've had here."
