Reasons for optimism:
They never gave up. I pretty much did when it was 31-7 and almost turned off the game. Not sure a Weis or Gill team reacts the same way.

Cozart was a mixed bag, but I thought he played pretty well. UNfortunately, his three errors will be remembered far more than the good things he did.

Kinner looked great.

Stanford looked good. So did Parmalee. Schadler provides a nice HR threat.

The coaches seemed to either make adjustments or the players calmed down or both.

Looked good on the FG and points after. Special teams on the whole seemed better.

Reasons for pessimism
We facking lost to SDSU and at one point almost got run out of the stadium.

Our defense looks incredibly bad. Even though they settled in and started getting stops, it is extremely worrisome. I have to confess, I am not sold on Bowen.

There were play calls that really killed us. 2 corner routes and an option. They pretty much cost us the game.

Clock management. Who deserves the blame, the players or the coaches?

Still too many mental mistakes. Some dumb penalties we cannot make.
