I am starting to see the team portions of practice we get where the defense is beginning to take some control. Now remember this is only what we see.

But some of the live action we get does tell a story. The defense is starting to flex their muscle a bit. They have gotten pressure on the quarterback. They have started to stuff the run better and receivers aren't getting as open.

A lot of that could be with the pads on there is a real rush coming now.

I think Marcquis Roberts is the real deal. He runs well. I also see him show some leadership with the guys. The defense the last three practices has played with some energy. I think Dineen's game is suited for the Big 12. For a LB he has some closing speed. With Arnick in there there are some LBs who can run.

I saw some good emotion at today's practice from both. Man, I'm telling you there is a lot of energy. Now don't confuse this as me pumping sunshine and saying this team will win five games. But there is a lot of energy for a team that is being predicted by the Vegas oddmakers to win 1.5 games. I think the coaches are doing a very good job with them.

This is setting the foundation. There is just more fire in the team from the practices over the last four years.

On kickoffs it looks like either Bartolotta or Wyman. I thought Wyman's kickoffs might have slightly better hang time and they were both putting them close to the goal line. In punting I would say a slight edge from what we have seen to Guzman over Kahn.

Watched the QB drills today. I like way Keaton Perry and Carter Stanley throw on the run from today's drills.
