I know everything is just fresh in everyone’s minds with the Oklahoma/Texas departures. There is some talk that there may not be an appetite by the other P5 conferences to expand right now.
So that would leave the remaining teams in the conference scrambling to add new members if I were to guess. Schools like Central Florida, South Florida, Cincinnati, Memphis, Houston and Southern Methodist have to be prime candidates.
With that said with the loss of Oklahoma/Texas, there will be a new power brokers in the conference. Will we see other Texas schools try to throw their weight around or do we actually stand a great shot of being the powerbroker due to our tier 3 money and blue blood basketball? I know football drives most conferences in the long run.
If we added many of those schools listed above, we would still see very good football and basketball. But the pay out amongst everyone would be drastically lower unfortunately.
