Trey Lathan is done with his visits and the feel is the Jayhawks are trending for the West Virginia linebacker. There is some talk the Jayhawks offered more money, but also the feel he is ready for a change. I think it speaks volumes the new DC and LB coach at West Virginia wanted him back and tried to get him to stay. Lathan told me this morning he does not know when he will announce his decision. The feel from the West Virginia side is growing that he will not return to Morgantown. I checked the portal and Lathan has not signed yet.

I don't get the feel things are trending in the same direction for Langston Hardy. He finished his visit to Wake Forest and I think he will end up committing to them. I said he would be a tough draw because he has one year left and it would give him a chance to play with his brother. But that could help out with Gabe Kirschke. The DE from Colorado State left his KU visit and flew to Wake Forest. After that, he was scheduled to go to Virginia, but hearing that could change. As I type this I am being told a visit to Purdue could be set for this week.

Right now I think what we see is what we get on the DE board. They aren't just going to take a body to take one. Their main target is Kirschke and the way the portal dates are lining up, the players who will enter are shrinking. The deadline passes today for those who played in a New Year's Eve bowl game. There just aren't going to be a lot of players entering the portal in the upcoming days.

I have not heard anything on Jacob De Jesus. I think his recruiting could go a couple different directions. The first is he follows Barry Odom from UNLV to Purdue. The other is he could take his visit to KU, but that was supposed to start today. I don't know how travel is going. I saw several flights have been canceled at KCI. I will follow it and let you know if I hear anything.

I have confirmed KU is not pursuing Kywon McCray although they offered the previous week. The staff did reach out to Colorado OL Khalil Benson, but he committed to Indiana yesterday. They are still searching for an OT with experience.

A WR KU has communicated with is Ismael Cisse from Stanford. He is visiting Arkansas and depending how things go with De Jesus, could look at setting him on a visit.
