It seems to me, based on reviewing who we are looking at, and their rankings in the portal (not that these are to be too relied upon) that the following appear to be the case:
* They have spent a large chunk of their NIL money on Peterson and Bidunga
*. Coach Self and staff really trust that Elmarko and Jamari are the real deal for next season and have invested a nice chunk of NIL $$ on them
* They believe Tiller and Calderon will be more than serviceable at the 4 and 5 starting or back-up positions
*. They are using their remaining NIL $$ in lower cost back-up players who can at worst earn playing time, and at best be key components of a Big XII championship team.
I have a lot of trust in Coach Self, but based on who has been available in the portal, where they have gone, this is the only thing that makes sense to me.
