Really good story on conference politics and future of Larry Scott. The Pac-12 is in better shape than the Big 12 long term (mainly because there isn't a threat for any conference to steal there schools - the Big 12 is closest based on geography but we all know the Big 12 couldn't land anybody) but it also has plenty of issues.
I thought this was the best quote in the story (talking about how college presidents were running Pac-10 during expansion area instead of ADs):
Now, when it comes to understanding what happens on the front lines of collegiate athletics – on the fields of play, on the recruit trails, at booster events and at infinite points of fan engagement — there are three types of chancellors/presidents

- Those who know nothing.
- Those who know almost nothing.
- Those who don’t care.
