The most dominant athlete in the world today. Shiffrin is ripping the World Cup circuit up, and has won 11 of 22 World Cup starts this season, and is one win away from matching Stenmark's 86 World Cup wins record. She passed Lindsey Vonn's (USA) womens record of 82 wins last weekend. What is amazing is that Shiffrin has gold in every event - Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom) not just her specialty which is slalom. She lost Sunday by .06 seconds in the Slalom. Shiffrin is 27 years old, and Stenmark predicts she will win over 100 World Cup races by the time she is 30. The U.S. Ski Team has never had depth. We seem to have the worlds best at the top - Lindsey Vonn, Bode Miller, Darren Rhalves - and then...no one in sight. In Europe she is a rock star. In the U.S., I would bet most sports enthusiasts have no idea who she is.
