Both FBS non-cons are ranked #21 UNLV, #22 Illinois. Both teams should win their last game. I think UNLV will have a chance to play Boise State in the MWC Championship. Only lost by 5 in regular season.
Big 12 standings
6-2: Arizona State, Iowa State, BYU, Colorado
5-3: Kansas State, TCU, West Virginia, Baylor, Texas Tech
4-4: Kansas
3-5: Houston, Cincinnati
2-6: UCF, Arizona
1-7: Utah
0-8: Oklahoma State
I'll start by saying we have 5 away games and 4 "home" games.
We played the 8 best teams in the Big 12, and if you take out ourselves, 9 of the top 10/11.
For reference, here's where the Big 12 standings started the year.
1. Utah
2. Kansas State
3. Oklahoma State
4. Kansas
5. Arizona
6. Iowa State
7. West Virginia
8. UCF
9. Texas Tech
10. TCU
11. Colorado
12. Baylor
13. BYU
14. Cincinnati
15. Houston
16. Arizona State
We were supposed to play 6 of the bottom 7. Instead we played 1. We were supposed to play 1 of the top 4, instead we played all of them.
Every game is a what-if for us, but if we would have not blown both ASU and KSU, we would be 6-2 in conference with wins over all of the top 6 teams, including 6-straight and 4-straight against ranked teams.
Win out from there and I think we'd be the 3 seed.
