If you have ever been next to Williams, you know the kid is a monster. If the staff can get him to play to even most of his potential, he'll be earning paychecks in 3 years for football. I liked Thibs but wasn't sure he coached as much as was a cheerleader for his kids. I've heard Slater is a tactician, which fits why he had some decent players lacking physical attributes at Rice. For my sleeper of the year, it is Olobia. He has a ton of ability and if he can figure out how to compete then he might be an all league honorable mention level of player.
Still very little depth at LB. Gotta love a kid like Arnick that has put in time but he isn't a Big 12 LB. If Roberts has to come out, I'd be ok with Ogbebor or Duckworth getting the reps due to need of development for next year. We have 4 guys that in 2017 I feel can play in Long, Dineen, Ogbebor, and Duckworth. This group does have multiple kids that I think aren't ready for LB but are ready to contribute in special teams.
Fish is the leader, Miller is the future star of the safety group. Bates started to flash at times last season towards the end. Remember, Bates played corner in juco so he had a transition to safety/NB. Richmond is a strong athletic kid that needs time but could be a solid starter as a junior.
Once the worst depth spot on the team now has a ton of kids, corner. I honestly think Ogletree is the best player of the group this season but at some point you have 4 kids in Williams, Mayberry, Ayinde, and Lee that didn't play Big 12 football next year but will be the core along with Peterson and Chandler next year at corner so as the season progresses and we see the losses start to accumulate...look for the new kids to get even more reps.
