What, exactly, is the reason that as the Big 12 is realigning itself going into the future, Baylor needs to be a part of it? In terms of fit, Houston is a better fit for a Texas school than Baylor and has been from day one. The political history that led to Baylor's inclusion in the league is no more- I am sure they still have political sway, but it isn't the governor mandating their inclusion. They have been nothing but a perpetual embarrassment to the league since they got in- from the basketball murder to the events of the past month. They bring no market, they bring no prestige, they are a worthless petrified turd on the side of the road, in my mind.

I understand, from reading the Dennis Dodd article yesterday, that unbelievably enough, there is no method by which the conference can remove one of its members involuntarily. (Whomever wrote those bylaws should be fired, by the way- and I am pretty sure I know exactly who that is.) If that's the case, then the other 9 schools need to come out publicly and explicitly, and say that they are not going to renew the conference bylaws with Baylor as part of the conference going forward. They need to not do another grant of rights on a new media contract which includes Baylor. Baylor needs to be put down- humanely, but with finality.
