A lot of us are extremely scarred from the juco escapades of one Charlie Weis and David Beaty. We all remember the Marquel Combs "Dream Team". What a kick in the nuts that was. With Leipold now extending offers to multiple juco, it definitely brings back memories, however, I'm not as worried and here is why:
Leipold has done Juco before. In 2016, he took TEN Juco at Buffalo! So this isn't some "desperate" swing. He's done this before and had success (unlike Weis/Beaty). Juco evaluation and integration is not something every coach can do. Some avoid it altogether. You've got to know who you're getting and you've got to have a system in place to integrate that player when they get there. If you've got that, you can really transform your team in 1 or 2 years. Lance has proven he can do it.
