Kirby has indicated 6-7 more spots left in the class. For me, the key recruits still on the board are:
RB--DeZephen Walker. We need to get his commitment. Huge for us locally to reach across the stateline to get a well regarded guy. If it isn't him, then I think our only real option is Izayah Lee, and I doubt that we get to the fourth visit with that kid. We might strike out at running back. Amachree is going to end up at Michigan State IMO.
LB--Joseph Credit. I don't think we end up with him, but he would fill a huge need. One of our OV linebackers committed to Toledo today, so if we don't get Credit, then it has to be Mason Marden moving back to linebacker from the edge or else we go with someone not currently set for an OV. Credit is key because of that.
TE--Ian Premer. Duh. If we don't end up with him, then I think we will have our pick between Kevin Sullivan and Dominick Barry, but Premer would be a guy who also can push this class over the top--and he and Utz together would be a lethal tight end combo long term.
CB--Jason Bradford is getting slept on but that dude is a stud. Add him to Dunnigan and Brown and the DBs are cooking with gas coming out of this class.
WR--I like Sims and Parker, but we need to get a thicker bodied kid too. Aljour Miles would be the perfect guy to fill that third receiver spot in our class and would likely be the best of the bunch. Hoping that we get to his visit date without him committing, but puzzled why we are waiting so long to bring him in.
DE--It has to be Ronelle Johnson. I know we have Vallejo and Kolone scheduled for visits down the road, and both are going to be nice players, but we gotta get Johnson and not let him end up at KSU.
I would love for us to find one more true offensive tackle to add to the class, too, as I think at least one of the current commits, potentially two, are going to end up inside. But I wouldn't reach for them. If somehow Aaron Thomas decided he wanted to come here, that is a grand slam win for us.
That's my key guys from what is left--expecting to see the OV list shake up more as guys are grabbing spots, and once again wishing that we would make a stronger effort to push our visit dates earlier on the calendar--we are missing out on guys because they commit before they get to our campus, so we never get a chance to close the deal with them. When we get guys on campus, we do well. We need to find a way to do better at getting them here.
