There's no early indication on what's going down on the Democratic side as I think it's going to be a close race but as for the Republican side Ted Cruz has absolutely blown the doors off of the competition.
This should be absolutely not surprising. After Ted did so well in Oklahoma I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would win in Kansas but I would agree with those that are surprised he's blowing Trump away this bad.
Don't confuse plain state folk for those in the south. The evangelical vote rules the roost. It's the uneducated vote, much like elsewhere, that are Trump supporters. Many people in the Plains states know their politics and don't always vote with emotion but with their heads and hearts. After Iowa the plains states could see right through Trumps play for evangelist. He's not one of them.
