Personally, I think it's going to be met with infighting, bickering, and ultimately two reports - one from the GOP, and one from the Ds. I'm disappointed the Ds bent to having equal representation on the Commission. 9/11 was equal because Congress was split. In nearly every other similar commission, the party in control had a seat advantage on the Commission. And given that the GOP has gone full gaslighting and support for the traitors who stormed the capitol, I have no confidence they will appoint honest individuals.
While it's good the reps aren't to be sitting reps, does anyone actually think McCarthy and the GOP will name people interested in actually diving to the bottom of it? Especially since McCarthy himself will be a material witness, along with numerous other GOP Reps and Senators?
It's a shame, because we need to find out what happened, but the set up of the Commission, and the GOP's full descent into fantasy means I think the odds are about as great as KU winning the NC next year in football.
