Reggie Mitchell made two stops last week with running backs Khalil Herbert and Jo-El Shaw. Hew visited Herbert on Thursday and Shaw on Friday. They had two RB's in Shaw and Jawon Hamilton set for visits on the 29th. Mitchell moved Herbert up a weekend earlier after meeting with him. I spoke with Herbert last night and he will visit this weekend.
If Herbert jumps in I believe that could be the one back for sure and then it comes down to whether they take a second back or not. After semester academic reports came in both Hamilton and Shaw are going to be border line. Hamilton told me last night he still plans to visit to Kansas if the visit is still available.
He said Tony Sands speaks very highly of Kansas and his parents are also going with him on the visit.
Toyous Avery has seen his stock pick up with a new offer from Colorado and heavy interest from Missouri. He is looking forward to his KU visit. I think Bowen is in good shape with him. He confirmed he will visit this weekend.
Evan Fairs text me this morning and said he was finishing up with his official visit to Illinois. He was getting ready to fly home. He said he will visit on the 29th. I think Thibodeaux has KU in good position. He was committed to Maryland but his relationship was with WR coach Keenan McCardell who was fired as part of the coaching change.
CB Julian Chandler who is committed to La Tech has been more open with me and set up an interview for tonight. He has been playing this close to the vest because he didn't want a lot of info in the public. He wanted to make sure everything is a go with KU.
I think Chandler is the top guy on the board but it looks Desmond Fairell a CB from Miami is still planning to come in this weekend. Fairell told me today his plans were for this weekend but was waiting to get confirmation in the 24 hours from Mitchell.
I'm still waiting word from DE Isaiah Bean if he is still visiting this weekend or bumping to the 29th. I still believe Bean's recruitment comes down to Bledsoe.
However, if KU only goes with one RB then that could open up one more spot for the best player available. I like Bean's film a lot.
I can also confirm that Ayinde, Durley, Keegan Brewer, Stephan Robinson, Dahan Haehn, Isi Holani, and DeeIsaac Davis are all on campus and ready to go for spring football.
