We have lost basically our entire roster minus two guys that redshirted last year and frankly weren't that good the year before, 2 of the 3 freshman coming in have question marks, and the only silver lining is that KU is getting a generational talent coming in with Peterson. Bill Self's seemingly totally irrational confidence when he told Peterson that he better not be worried is honestly kind of funny. Listen, I think Bill Self is arguably the best basketball coaching of the last 25 years but you can't deny that is STRUGGLING in this new era of college basketball versus the previous decade.
I was trying to talk myself into getting excited about a tear it down and build it back up from scratch scenario but even that isn't going well when we have seemingly whiffed on our first two major targets(Dix and Hall) plus Dent who didn't even make the final cut for. All of this is just unfamiliar territory as a KU fan that we aren't the belle of the ball anymore and we just don't seem to have the appeal from the get go that we seemed to with guys.
