- he has to know he didn't call the right play on the goal line and will not do that again
- whatever anyone wants to say about Cozart vs Willis and any stuff behind the scenes...something changed and I'm sure plenty of people will have 3-5 degrees of separation to truly know (I'm not saying I do) but Beaty at a minimum now knows yanking kids in and out at qb during a game gives no one a chance for rhythm and consistency
- he needs to be very sure Liam Jones is ready, KU wins yesterday with 2 easy FGs made under 50 yards. If he is the real deal, be sure you have a plan B b/c someone will come after him before signing day
- The WR rotations were much different and we saw much better angles and blocking on the edge
- your tackles that fail to engage the DE in the air raid will result in tipped passes all day, Banks struggled big time to engage his man because he was lining up wide or back a little bit, Banks was not able to cut block him and he doesn't have the range to go a few yards and then lock a kid up
- acting as the OC means some of those when and when not to use TOs at the end of the game a head coach might weigh in on is more difficult for him and having someone help with that on the sidelines would be key...calling a timeout and then kicking a field goal? Wasted timeouts and called too late wasn't just an issue yesterday.
- something to be said about gamers vs practice/workout warriors. Loneker doesn't necessarily make a ton of great plays but he is where he is supposed to be and doesn't give up a ton. Dineen vs Loneker...not sure I prefer Dineen out there after what I saw from Loneker. And of course, Willis vs Cozart.
I am still really upset at the playcall on goal line, field goals, going away from the running game...but yesterday KU looked like they belonged. Even when we saw KU scrapping in the TT game, it didn't look like KU had the same level of players...it was the DL creating issues and then random big play for offense.
