I think most Big 12 schools are starting to get it...

They need the Big 12 to stop being complacent. Chuck Carleton tweeted that as many as 8 Big 12 teams may want to expand, up from 6. But my guess nothing will happen because of good old UT. So KU badly needs the Big 12 to hang together through the GOR.

JK has already said it several times, no one is interested in KU at this time. If everything blows up we will be fighting for a seat at the table against teams like OSU and TTech who will likely have big brothers in OU an UT. Very depressing.

So what do we do. Pray the Big 12 survives until the GOR because that gives us time to improve some things. Between now and then, get a new football stadium, start winning a lot of games in football, keep basketball at the very top, keep the AAU status. I truly believe for us be an ultimate survivor we have to improve from here. Where we are today my friends, is likely not to cut it. As JK said once, if everything had completely blown up in the Orange Bowl year, KU would have cruised to another conference. But things have changed.

I still like our chances, and I would be heart broken if KU were left out of a Power conference. So hopefully we have a little time and essentially one more chance to improve our status. We can't bring more TV sets, so we have to bring everything else. We have to start winning games in football. It will definitely help. We need to get very competitive and very soon. Then with KU Basketball, a competitive football team, a nice stadium, and KU academics we should be able to squeak by, but it going to be razor thin. I think we can do it. If we can start beating and competing with TT and OSU, the other conferences are gong to choose KU for all of the other reasons. Let's roll baby!!!!!
