I know we're in the middle of processing the NCAA tournament but I was flipping around on the radio this morning and currently being discussed on 610 is the possibility of this being the last season we see North Carolina in the NCAA tournament for awhile.
There's a real possibility with the academic scandal going on that North Carolina sees a punishment worse than Syracuse. Does the NCAA allow one of their blue blood programs suffer such a harsh reality? Do you think Roy would call it quits or do you think he would try to ride it out as best as he could?
I think you can see at least a couple seasons of postseason ban and massive reduction in scholarships. In a conference like the ACC we could see both Syracuse and North Carolina fall back quite a bit and see the emergence of programs like North Carolina State or Wake Forest. As much as I like Roy I still find it fascinating how much damage could come about to one of the more storied programs in college basketball.
