Hey all,
As most of you know, Thon Maker, the 7-foot-0, 210-pound center from Athlete Institute Basketball Academy Mono, Ontario, Canada, was in Lawrence, Kan., for an unofficial visit on Friday night. Now, if you go back and look at some recent updates, Kansas hasn't been listed lately, but it appears all of that has changed.
Late on Thursday afternoon, Maker, a five-star prospect, indicated that Kansas is one of the schools recruiting him the hardest. In all, Maker, while on ESPNU, mentioned Arizona State, Kansas, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Indiana, and St. John's as the schools recruiting him the hardest.
So, when I got to Chicago, I heard from a source, and that source told me that Thon Maker had an great, great visit and he's in the process of working on a date to officially visit. Also, I was told that Thon loved the atmosphere for a home opener and that he really enjoyed watching how the team played.
I hope to have some additional information for you in the very near future, but from what I've been told, the Kansas coaching staff really did an outstanding job on Friday night. And, as I mentioned earlier, Thon is very much looking forward to returning for an official visit.
