So there's a new BBQ joint, Fire Canyon BBQ, in Lawrence. It's located in the old motor cycle bar (I think it was the Slow Ride Roadhouse) in North Lawrence.
The owner is a KU grad, ran a food truck in Colorado for years, and recently moved back to Lawrence and decided to open a BBQ restaurant instead of running a food truck.
They're in the middle of a long soft launch, but their BBQ is excellent. While it may change after Q39 opens, I think they're currently the best BBQ joint in town.
They don't have a website yet, but they post frequent updates, including hours for the week, on Facebook. Just search for Fire Canyon Barbeque.
