Hopefully we have a few Hawk fans out there that know this, but how come we get hit with a winter storm here in KC with a foot of snow, ice, subzero temps; but KC shrugs it off with little damage and some griping about the weather. Atlanta gets hit with a winter storm and thousands of people are without power, the city doesn't know how to react, people sleep the night in their car on the highway because they can't get home, etc etc.
I understand that KC is more used to winter storms and may be better prepared but we are talking about a huge difference in city employee incompetence and lack of foresight. How can lines go down so easily there but the ones here are fine? How can a city the size of Atlanta have FIVE PLOW TRUCKS?! How can we barely be affected and they're on the verge of declaring a federal disaster area?!
