Before the tournament, all the experts wrote KU off - had us at the top of the lists of high seeds that had no shot at winning. I was hoping that this - you know Self used it to motivate them - would have tapped some hidden reservoir of heart and pride that would have carried us to at least the Elite 8. It often works - look at UCLA this year ("shouldn't be in the field") and Louisville ("Not the same team without Chris Jones"). Instead, most of our players chose to phone their effort in against Wichita State. There were exceptions, but for those who didn't show up for the game ready to give it 100%, it would be a shame to lose out on a top current recruit due to a lack of scholarships. This team had more talent than Michigan State - it just had less heart, and that isn't going to change with another year of experience. It is time for some players to move on and let kids who want to win play.
