Derrick Griffin was a five star wide receiver who signed with Miami back in 2013. He was never able to get eligible and ended up at Texas Southern. He was a redshirt freshman this past year and had over 700 yards receiving and 11 TD's. Once football was over, he moved over to the basketball team and after two or three practices, he had a double-double in his first game. He ended up averaging 13 points, 11 rebounds, and over 2 blocks per game. He was voted newcomer of the year, defensive player of the year, and player of the year as a walk-on.
It's just crazy how things work out for some places.
Wouldn't it be great if an athlete like this showed up at KU and could contribute to the football team in that way?
