1st down after a turnover trying to take a deep shot with Tech dropping 8 in a coverage and knowledge that our QB has a noodle for an arm. It doesn’t excuse MK eating the ball but how do you not recognize this at the LOS? At least see the formation and incorporate a check down for positive yardage.
It’s almost as bad as running halfback pass inside your own 35 yard line after a turnover like we did in the Iowa State game.
It’s these decisions that swing games and not a product of a experience or personnel. It’s a concern if Dearmon can adequately read and understand game day circumstances vs. a guy with intimate knowledge of a system and reliance on analytics.
