A new state law sets up a Fast Food Council with authority to immediately raise the minimum wage of fast food workers to $22/hour as well as set working condition requirements. The Fast Fold Council will have 9 appointed members by the Governor and 1 each by the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate. 4 members of the agency appointed by the Governor must be workers representatives, 4 from the businesses, and 1 state official from the state Economic Development Agency. The legislative appointees must represent employee interests. Unions couldn‘t get this done thru existing procedures of elections at individual businesses so they went to the one party state Lefty government and won unionized goals without having to mess with elections. Anyone who thinks the outvoted businesses on that Council won’t be rolled is kidding themselves. Those businesses are not angels but have now been singled out for state micromanagement. The law has been successfully put on the 2024 election ballot by opponents Petitions. Will be interesting to see how fast the already underway digitalization of fast food restaurants ordering and serving goes if the law is approved by voters.
