A first-year member of the Big 12 conference, Cincinnati will enter Monday night’s contest against Kansas with an overall record of 13-5 and 2-3 in league play. This season, the Bearcats are 11-2 at home, 2-2 in true road games, and 0-1 in neutral site games.
Sitting at 2-3 in conference play, Cincinnati owns victors over No. 12 (Ranking at the time) BYU and No. 19 TCU. For the Bearcats, the three defeats came at the hands of No. 25 (Ranking at the time) Texas, at No. 14 (Ranking at the time) Baylor, and against No. 15 Oklahoma.
In losing to the Sooners this past weekend, the Bearcats were led by Simas Lukosius (17) and John Newman III (14).
In the loss, Cincinnati shot 22-of-58 (37.9 percent) from the field, 7-of-26 (26.9 percent) from behind the arc, and 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) from the free-throw line. The Bearcats lost the battle on the glass, 42-36, dished out 15 assists, committed eight turnovers, blocked seven shots, and tallied eight steals.
