Once again, 11 games in now against mostly solid competition and were 66-173 from three for 38%. Before anyone says, "yeah but Hunter" if you remove HDs three point stats from the equation were 55-154 for 36%.
I think part of why we can stay at least 34% or better as a team even during conference play is because Hunter is a great shooter who's hard to guard from the top of the key so I think he will still shoot 40% on the year as a whole. Additionally, when he's in the paint commanding 2-3 defenders our shooters get easier looks, which can help them make 35% instead of around 30% like what they probably would make guarded. I'm still slightly concerned with shooting but much less so than I was a month ago.
Said all along if we can shoot 34% or better as a team this year I think that will probably get the job done. Hopefully Furphy is just now getting that groove to be a consistent 40% shooter and Timberlake is at least showing signs of life with hitting some shots..
