11/7 podcast (28:00) Dennis has some interesting comments regarding Miles, KU & other coaching hires.
-Dodd had dinner with Miles Thurs last week. Miles IS interested.
-Miles makes sense because he might want to land at a place to retire being that he turns 65 on 11/10. He doesn’t care about the money. He just wants to coach.
-Dodd thinks Littrell would not be interested in Kansas at all and that he would sit and wait another year or two for a better job.
-Kansas may be a 2 coach turn around. 4yrs for one coach then a second hire.
-Miles would run the spread.
-Said he thinks Miles has his OC picked out if he’s hired but not certain if the OC would come based on what he’s doing right now.
-Said Long’s priority one after hiring a head coach is to address the infrastructure of the program... ie more money...get each coordinator a secretary and more analysts/more staff. He said a big booster is already in full support of funding that move.
-One of KU’s biggest boosters is all in to fund the needed infrastructure with the RIGHT hire. Believes that to be Miles.
Miles would be able to fundraise like no one else that KU could hire.
