If the shut down happens then about 850,000 federal employees will be furloughed. The shut down will not affect non appropriations: military, social security, national security, unemploment, and others if this ilk. It is really a patial shut down in which non essential things will be either shut down or curtaled somewhat. Also, FICA will still be deducted from your checks of which a portion will be sent to me. In the end it will be, if it happens, and inconvienance that will be an example for which congress should be embarrassed.
