Pretty wild to go back and read the first few pages from June (JUNE!) and see people Monday morning quarterbacking the response as if the pandemic were over. At the time, "only" 100k something people had died. We hadn't gotten a memorial day surge. And we were months away from the disaster that was autumn/Thanksgiving/Christmas.

I know there's a certain element trolling in that thread. But there were also a lot of people smelling their own farts and ready to dunk on the "overreaction." That thread has long since ceased to be about Covid at all, but I do wonder how many people in that thread still think it was a nothingburger. Probably more than you'd want.
