There is a post on the bball board that, like on this board, led into a discussion of school loans. When my wife and I left KU you could pay for school with a summer job and a part time job during the school year. The idea of an upper 5 figure or 6 figure loan asounds me. Why not take longer to go through school and have less debt? Getting out sooner so you can start a career sooner seems counterproductive to me when I look at how the debt load would be an anchor for years. I would like to hear if those of you that incurred large loans and went to work sonner if you would do it again. My favorite quote that I heard during my years at KU were in a class taught by either a grad student or young teacher who was pontificating on something unrelated to the course. I young kid in front of me raised his hand and when called on said "Mr----, I spent the summer selling womens shoes to get the money to pay for this course. Please stick to the course material".
