Legacy Restaurant Group (d/b/a Wendy’s), and Mass St. Collective Announce New Partnership
Mass St. Launches Women’s 100 Club presented by Wendy’s

Lawrence, Kan. – Legacy Restaurant Group (LRG), a Wendy’s franchisee in Kansas and Missouri, has partnered with Mass St. Collective to bring enhanced name, image and likeness (NIL) branding opportunities to KU student-athletes. Legacy Restaurant Group’s owners Felix Tollinche and Kirk Williams were early movers in the NIL space helping KU student-athletes develop and monetize their personal brands with the nationally recognized Wendy’s brand.

“Last year, LRG was excited to work with members of the National Champion men’s basketball team to monetize their NIL potential,” said Kirk Williams KU alum and founder of Legacy Restaurant Group. “We are excited to partner with Mass St. Collective to bring more NIL opportunities to more KU student-athletes. As an innovator in NIL partnerships, Wendy’s is helping student-athletes develop their personal brands in conjunction with KU branding elements.”

For the 2022-23 campaign, LRG has signed the following five student-athletes:
  • Caroline Bien, Volleyball
  • Jalon Daniels, Football
  • Dajuan Harris, Men’s Basketball
  • Holly Kersgieter, Women’s Basketball
  • Jalen Wilson, Men’s Basketball

Part of each agreement includes each student-athlete having their image on the exterior of the 23rd Street Wendy’s in Lawrence.

100 Club for Women’s Sports
As a part of LRG’s partnership with Mass St Collective, LRG is excited to have Wendy’s become the presenting sponsor of the newly launched Women’s 100 Club. Funds raised through this new initiative will go directly to support NIL activities for KU women student-athletes. This exclusive Club requires a contribution of $5,000 per year with funds raised used exclusively for NIL activities for female student-athletes at KU.

“In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, it was imperative for Mass St. to create an opportunity for businesses and individuals to support NIL initiatives for women athletes at KU,” said Dan Beckler, President of Mass St. Collective. “In conversations with Felix and Kirk at Wendy’s about this sponsorship deal, they jumped at the opportunity to join us in this new initiative. I credit each of them for their enthusiasm of Wendy’s to be the presenting sponsor of the Women’s 100 Club. We are grateful for their financial contribution to launch this new club.”

This Club will accept 100 individuals or business with the goal of raising $500,000 annually for NIL activities. For those business or individuals that sign-up, tax-deductibility can be provided through Reaching Champions Joining Hearts. If interested in joining, please email Info@MassStrategies.com.
