I don’t live there now, but my hometown, Dodge City, has been hit hard by the virus. Ford County has more cases than any county in the state but more testing also. Three days ago the DC Daily Globe reported 1232 cases of the virus but only 27 hospitalizations! There have been 8 deaths. If my math is correct, that is a hospitalization rate of only 2.2%. So the overwhelming percentage of the infected recover at home. I am not making light of any of this as every life is precious, but have we perhaps overreacted somewhat as a nation and danced to the media tune because of the numbers from NYC? The media have sensationalized the deadliness of the virus it seems to me.
