Teams that have guards that can get in the lane and score do better in the tourney compared to those that try and win with size and physicality.
Our inability to keep Davis out of the paint was the biggest factor in that game. Missed free throws hurt. Udeh fumbling the ball and missing that layup when up 12 was the turning point in the game. Refs were inconsistent. But still boils down to superior guard play in the tourney and we didn’t have someone to help Harris especially after he hurt his ankle.
Get well soon Self and rest up this off-season. Norm did you zero favors going conservative with 12 minutes left against a defense that was completely undisciplined. Some of these guys make coaching look so much more difficult than it actually is.
