Do we want to acknowledge the elephant in the room? This season KU has suffered some unusual and unexpected loses, at least unusual for KU. There are numerous reasons for this, self imposed (with NCAA help) scholarship limits, player defections, player development, ineffective (at times) bench play resulting over worked players and injuries. KU was due a season like this, but is the “Golden Age” over? A big resounding no, KU will always be a major player in the league and for future championships (when healthy, not counting this season out). However, with the conference additions this year and next year, will KU run off a string of conference championships as in the past? Again, another resounding no, KU will be a factor in every league race and win many of them, but get used to seasons of second and third place finishes. This league is too good and diverse for domination that KU has enjoyed in the past. I get tired of people complaining about what is wrong with KU. We will have years like this and years of dominance. Buckle up for the ride.
