With Bai Jobe committed, I thought it would be interesting to look at the DEs we will have on the roster going into the fall. One thing I wonder is if we can get away with rotating the DEs out less frequently since we aren’t as deep. I know DT is a rotational position, but is DE as well? Breakdown:
Jereme Robinson - Sr
Dean Miller - RS Jr
Bai Jobe - RS Fr
Dylan Brooks - RS Jr (undisclosed injury)
Jaydon Brittingham - RS Fr (walk-on)
Dakyus Brinkley - Fr
DeShawn Warner - Fr
Maxwell Ford - RS Fr (walk-on)
Dylan Wudke- RS Sr
Cole Petrus - RS So (walk-on)
Top 4 coming in to fall camp: Robinson, Wudke, Miller, Jobe (?)
Are there any interior guys we could rotate to the end position if needed? I imagine that is unlikely but is there anyone at DT we could realistically move outside?
This is long term but what are the odds Greydon Grimes ends up at DE? Big physical kid and I think Baylor liked him at DE.
Can we realistically preserve a redshirt for our stud freshmen Brinkley and Warner? I’d like to see them develop early in the year and maybe play in 4 conference games but potentially still redshirt. That’s probably not going to happen though based on our lack of depth.
