It is my understanding that once a congressperson is elected he is elected to serve not only those in his party but also the rest of the people. It is also my understanding that our system is designed to protect the citizens of teh minority part. So, with obamacare for example, the law was written, passed, and enacted without any discussion with the minority party. My representative had no voice and ergo, myself as a citizen had no voice. (other than unread letters) My thought is that even though one party may control three arms that nothing should be written and then enacted without discussion by both parties. The purpose of the discussion should be to point flaws, ask for improvements etc. and to represent the people. Is this unreasonable?
