Hey all,

I recently got word that Kansas has been in contact with Jahmir Young, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md. A member of the 2019 class, Young signed with Charlotte out of high school and just completed his junior year with the 49ers. This past season, Young averaged 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. In 31 games, Young shot 46.8 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from behind the arc, and 89.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Young, in 85 career games, has averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Offensively, he's connected on 44.3 percent of his field goals, 35.0 percent of his shots from behind the arc, and 83.0 percent of his free throws. This past season, Young had scoring games of 25, 23, 20, 20, 26, 26, 27, 20, 20, 30, 21, 24, 28, 26, 21, 23, 26, and 21.

Furthermore, Young, as a junior, dished out 9 assists against USC Upstate, 6 assists against Toledo, 5 assists against Arkansas, 5 assists against WCU, 5 assists against UTEP, 5 assists against Rice, 5 assists against FIU, 5 assists against Louisiana Tech, 7 assists against Western Kentucky, 6 assists against Marshall, and 6 assists against Southern Miss. In fact, Young had four or more assists 16 times this past season. On the flip side, he didn't turn the ball over more than four times in any game this past season.

Lastly, Young grabbed five or more rebounds 17 times this past season. I've been able to exchange a few messages with Young and I hope to have more in the near future, but I do know that Kansas has been in contact with the talented guard.
