ESU's recent posts about which units are stronger, etc., have caused me to look at each and see where we have made the greatest progress and what units are lagging a bit.
I think our LB's are probably our best overall when you consider the experience and talent in youngsters.
Dineen, Roberts and Arnick have all played a lot of downs at this point. Behind them you have Duckworth, Long and Loneker who should come along nicely plus this year's class.
DL appears to have the overall talent with the strength in the DE's of Olobia, Armstrong, Mosby and Ehambe. If Davis and Holani can provide the backup for Dezir, Wise and Williams, we should be good. Cannot afford injuries here.
Secondary has some serious talent. Mostly young and inexperienced. If Miller's move to safety works out we could be dynamite there with him and Smithson backed up by Bates and others.
On offense it appears to me we have recruited very well with WR/TE and are deep numbers wise. We are short of experience here but if the OL and QB play improves these guys will be able to show what they can do.
The O-Line is the key to the offense this year and for that matter most years. We have some talent, though little experience at QB, that might show itself if the O-Line can give them time. I like the make-up of our O-Line classes considering most of the talent has been brought on board by Beaty in the last 2 years.
RB's are very thin in my opinion. The key players here for me are Taylor Martin and Ryan Scheduler. Kinner is the leading runner but needs some plays off to avoid being beaten up halfway through the season. These two guys could provide that relief.
Finally, special teams should take a major step forward. Two factors here. Greatly improved team speed and Joe DeForest.
