Stewart is transferring out of Michigan State but KU offered him out of high school. He’s being followed by quite a bit of our staff, but I think a lot of that had to do with him out of high school. Aligo is well aware of him. Samuels was the WR coach at MSU when he was initially committed to MSU. Simpson follows him as well.
Out of high school this is what the scouting report was on him.
“Has great size. Tall, well-built, and looks like a college player in high school. Versatile and has played multiple positions. Natural pass-catcher who attacks the football and catches it away from his body. Size and strength allow him to outmuscle defenders for position and then the football. Smooth runner after the catch. Strong, physical and willing to block. Great intangibles as far as work ethic and willingness to compete and play multiple roles. Has moved around so much position-wise that he still must polish his wide receiver skills in college. Still learning as a route-runner. Has to become more sudden in and out of his breaks. Given his size and intangibles, he projects as an impact player on the Power 5 level.”
