Assuming the GOP loses the Presidency and either outright loses the Senate and/or House or loses margins in both, how do you think the GOP should move forward?
The problem:
Trump has rallied the base, but done so at the expense of minorities. If the GOP embraces the Trump positions and base, they will alienate minorities for generations, guaranteeing they lose every Presidential race for the next 30 years.
If they reject Trump's positions and base, they risk a party civil war at a time they need to show unity in opposing Pres. Hillary. They would also risk causing the party to fracture into 2.
Hanging over all this is the fact Trump is looking likely to start a network and if that happens, he's shown a willingness to attack both Rs and Ds, which is bad news for the Rs as the group watching him are likely previous R supporters.
The GOP has tried in the past rejecting his type of platform with the autopsy report, but all it led to was an even more extreme candidate (him) and created an example for the annals of failed rebranding.
So what do you recommend they do to stay a viable party in the future?
(And yes, I know they still control most of the states and aren't being threatened with immediate extinction, but the hints are there and if they want to win nationally, they need to get their shit together.)
