We all know what HD is and isn't this year. But where's KJ (consider his stats are hampered by missed games due to injury) and others when it's time to block out and at least try to rebound?
The KU Athletics site stats actually show us (38.6/game) ahead of our opponents (34.8/game) so far this season, but lately my eyeballs are telling me a different story.
In 2022, we (35.9/game) barely outrebounded our opponents (34.9/game), so maybe this isn't a meaningful statistic anymore?
Food for thought: The proliferation of 3 point shots and rebound opportunities much further from the basket, has increased the need to be lucky and in the right area, combined with an increased need to hustle and fight for 50/50 balls that aren't as high in the air.
