There is not 1 game on the schedule for the rest of the year that I don’t think we can compete in.

OU- This was the one game on the schedule that I just didn’t think we could hang with but yesterday was very surprising. For Venables pedigree on defense, they were dogshit. KSU did nothing that you wouldn’t expect and OU just couldn’t figure out what to do Michael Vick, I mean Adrian Martinez.

KSU-Was impressed they came back from a bad loss and beat OU at home. They are who we thought they are though- solid, not extremely talented other than Vaughn and a couple guys on D, and the type of team that if you force them to be one dimensional.. Martinez will not beat you in the air. Stock up from last week.

Texas- Same shit, different year. Talented but they just don’t look like they always know what they are doing on the field. Defense was atrocious. Sark calls dumb plays at dumb times with the stupid Wildcat he kept running. Stock down.

Tech- Donovan Smith played well yesterday but their defense looked like Swiss cheese in the first half. Same comment about Smith as Martinez, really good athlete but if you make him beat you with his arm, I don’t see it but he did play better than I expected. Stock up.

Baylor- They are honestly exactly what you’d expect. Tough, physical, great athletes, and don’t beat themselves. This is the team that I just don’t know if we can hang with on the LOS and they’ll play assignment sound on D. Shapen is not a world beater though and they seem to lack being crisp in the passing game. Stock up.

Iowa State- They are basically a Less talented Baylor this year.. which isn’t a bad thing. Dekkers has been decent this year for a first year starter and Brock is solid but they don’t wow you in any one area. I really can’t wait for this game next week as it’s definitely very winnable and we for sure have the much more dynamic offense and a QB that can win us a game. Stock even after the loss.

Losing steam and my kids are stirring so I’ll wrap it up.

TCU- Stock up. Much better team with Duggan on offense versus Morris. Dynamic playmakers. I don’t know that our defense can slow them down but their D isn’t good enough to completely shut us down. I see a shootout.

Okie State- I’ll be honest, I’m still not sure what to make of them. Sanders is a very solid QB that isn’t a game changer but he’s very good. Obviously they are going to come in as favorites and they’ve earned that but we get them at home and their defense has given up points to much worse offenses .

I said this yesterday but I think we are a solid defense away from being an 8-9 win team versus a 5-7 win team. Borland seemed to get better as the year went on so I’m hoping we can
Do the same this year.
