So, I get audited by the IRS every couple of years because I have a small business. Well, so I go to the IRS at my appointed time and my auditor does not show up....at all. I call her, no answer. Days later, more calls, no answer. I checked with the security guard when I was there -> he tells me she's at lunch!! lol I've called a number of times to try to set up another appointment but then I'm thinking wait...this is BS. She missed the meeting, not me. Do I have an obligation to keep chasing this lady down? I kind of feel like I did my duty by showing up and I'm considering hiring a tax attorney to put this behind me and get it off my plate. But, I suspect that's not how it works. Nonetheless, I'm open to advice or if someone knows a good tax attorney in Kansas City I'd appreciate the number. thx!
